I'm considering the purchase of an idler wheel drive turntable and I have an interest in the Dual 1229 and the Lenco L78. I plan to run the unit with it's stock arm and I appreciate having auto-lift, which is why I've chosen these two models. My questions are:
1) Can anyone comment on the specific sonic differences they've observed between these two machines?
2) Assuming that both are functioning perfectly, which unit has a better stock tonearm? To me, the Lenco seems better because of the simplicity of having actual weights instead of the iffy spring mechanisms on the Dual.
3) Is either of these known to be more speed-stable than the other?
