I'm trying to learn cartridge setup. I read Jon Risch's reply to Thorsten in Thorsten's setup posting in the FAQ, and he discusses stylus overhang briefly, and says it's generally the distance from the back of the headshell to the stylus tip. I have an Ekos, and the Linn site says stylus overhang should be 18 mm. I checked, and the stylus tip of the cartridge, which was set up by the Linn dealer, is about 30 mm from the back of the headshell! Moreover, it looks like it would be impossible to slide the cart back far enough to have it be 18 mm. Does Linn define overhang differently?
Thanks!
