mosinWith rifle barrels the usefulness of Cryogenic treatment (which BTW is actual cryogenics unlikr the Audio Scam cryo ) is dependant
upon the specific barrel steel alloy as well as the way it's been rifles a single point cut rifled or really expertly done broached barrel of the correct steel alloys would be good, as carbide crystalline structures migrate to the surface adding a great deal to barrel longevity provided the cut rifled barrel is expertly lapped
for the proper surface first. You wouldn't want to Cryo a button rifled barrels like Lilja's
barrels. And what Lilja suggested Cryoing had done to reportedly make the barrel steel easier to machine isn't a function of Cryoing, beyond Cryo processing precursor the stress relief (heating)
Cryoing was originally found to dramatically increase the longevity of crank and cam shafts in F1 engines.
Actual Cryogenic treatment is such that the vast majority of audio
bits that are supposedly Cryo'd couldn't possibly withstand / survive
actual Cryogenic treatment. The reason folks will doubtless respond that they heard differences or even significant differences has everything to do with
their expectations and nothing to do with actuality. If Cryoing Audio bits Can somehow be demonstrated to benefit Audio Bits electrical outlet cover plates wires cable whatever, it's time to seriously re-examine the Tooth fairy and Easter Bunny issues ;-)
