John,i've been thinking about your statement;
"I cannot hear the slightest difference between a vinyl record and digital copy on my system."
this is just so contrary to my experience; and yet you are such a credible person here; i would really love to resolve this difference between our perceptions. soooooooo........
with all due respect and with all seriousness i will make you the following wager;
you fly to my home and bring your A to D recorder; we make 5 copies of 5 Lp tracks on my system with your recorder.
if i can pick 5 out of 5 correct when the Lp and digital copy is played back to back when i am blindfolded then i win; if i miss even one then you win. we could even do 10 out of 10 if you feel the need. i would just want to pick the recordings.
we can use your digital player or mine for playback.....whichever you choose.
i'll buy your plane ticket, pick you up at the airport, and put you up in my guest room. the loser will contribute $250 (or $500...but i don't want this to be about money) to the audioasylum.
from my perspective there is simply no way i could not pick out any digital copy from my tt. but the only way of proving that is to do the work.
wadaya think?
