Re: Q about TT

Rarely has the HR sounded good to me and I'm certain this is messing things up. So is the Shure V15 III. It does some things very right...it's fast, it's transparent, isolation is stellar...but it always leans toward sounding lean. Mine is identical to the unit in the top photo. Upgrading the stock arm to the SME 3009 made a huge improvement, though the stock Fluid Arm tracked better than the SME. I've tried an acrylic platter on my table and it doesn't seem to make much difference in sound quality, which is stange. I have a Thorens TD125 sitting around that I plan to replace the HR with in my main system. I also have an extra HR that I may sell to finance a Linn LP12.
