you might want to try a grado, or at least find a grado dealer that has one mounted on a rega (also unshielded). after reading about this hum, i had the impression that it was a lot worse than it turned out to be. so i think it might be worth checking out and forming your own opinion on it.i am very sensitive to hum, and harmonics etc.... the grado hum however was somehting that i have been very happily able to live with. (i listen mainly to orchestral and chamber music these days).
