Typical Eucalypts are certainly very dense and hard. Just ask anyone who has tried to chop them up after they have dried. Its quite a sight to watch the axe bounce!
Many Eucalypts have large dimensional changes with varying humidity and this could cause a platform to warp with seasonal indoor humidity changes. I would find out what I could about the characteristics of particular wood before ordering. what you need to watch for are large differences between radial and tangential expansion, large variability within either and the pressence of any spiral grain or reaction wood. As it is a new plantation hybrid, I would expect this information to be available somewhere.
Let us know what you find out
