Re: Ergonomics and Cartridges

I'm not suggesting that ergonomics should be the primary determinant of which cartridge to buy but I note from posts on this asylum, that poor ergonomics contribute to a lot of owner frustration. If a cartridge is hard to set up properly then it will often be set up badly and not sound as good as it should. If a cantilever is exposed and easily broken then it often will be, and some owners will give up on that make, or expensive cartridges in general, or vinyl all together, even if they like the sound. Ergonomics could often be improved with no significant cost or compromise when a cartridge is originally designed. Without feedback, cartridge designers are unlikely to suddenly consider ergonomics a significant design issues. That is a long term issue. In the shorter term, I hope to get some responses suggesting practical work arounds for common problems.
