I've got a few vintage turntables that I want to upgrade the tonearm on. Two of them are old Transcriptors models. I have an SME 3009 III that I could install on one of them, but frankly I find the setup for that arm to be a bit intimidating. The arm also seems loose at the pivot point...there is some play there and I don't know if this indicates a problem with the unit. I also have a Grace 707 arm. I will be using either a Shure V15 III or a Shure V15 V. Would I be making a serious compromise by going with the Grace 707 instead of the SME 3009 III?
