What is the problem with a new stylus in an old body?
The components I would expect to degrade with time and wear are in the stylus which would be new. I wouldn't have thought that the cartridge body would be much affected by time.
I have tried them both on a number of systems and, in each case, I thought that the V15III with the VN35MR stylus sounded quite a bit better than the M97xE. Even if there has been some loss over time for a reason I have not thought of, the resulting sound was still a lot better, at least to my ears.

David
