Grado Black is a POS, IMO. I really had problems with muted trumpets on a td125/rb300, even worse on a td145 mk1. The Grado Black frequency response is much more uneven than other cartridges I have been using lately.I have also had a grado platinum on a well tempered classic, and couldn't get rid of tracking problems. No problems with a Sonata.
Grados are problematic. Grado hum and Grado dance are well documented problems. So, I would stay away from Grado, at least until the grado sonata.
I would recommend a Shure M94E p-mount. It is available for under $50 from www.garage-a-records.com. No affiliation with them, but I have used them several times with no problems.
