I went through the same thing with the VN35MR stylus in my Shure V15 III and reached the following conclusions.1) It is easy to misread the rake angle depending upon the angles of, the light, your view and reflections off the stylus facets . (I ended up using an 8x loupe to see it but would love to find something better)
2) Manufacturing tolerances on the angle between the stylus and the cantilever may require the base of the arm to be raised or lowered a lot to achieve the same rake angle with different samples of the same cartridge model.
I would email Dynavector and see what they say about, optimum rake angle, design angle between cantilever and stylus AND what tolerance you should expect on their product for both a)the angle between rake and cantilever and b)for the rake angle when the cartridge is horizontal and is operating at their recommended VTF.
Hope that this is helpful.
