inexpensive phono amp

If you're getting something new, you should check out the GSP Gram Amp 1. It was an astounding improvement over the built-in one in my previous Yamaha reciever. I've heard it's also better than the (somewhat cheaper) NAD PP-2. For less money, I don't think it gets much cheaper than the Project Phono Box for your basic needs.

In the used market, you can probably get something noticably better for <$400, like a Lehman Black Cube. For around $150, may people cite the Rotel RQ-970BX as the way to go.

HiFi+ did a comparison of entry level phono amps in the last Issue 24, the Project, Rega MM, GSP Era Gold, and Lehman.
