Linn Basik TT cartridge installation...

Hi, I recently bought a Linn Basik turntable/Akito arm combo for $300 locally, and I'm having some problems with the cartridge installation. I have a Grado Green cartridge, and when I tried the installation (using the guide from the FAQ here on the asylum) I keep getting the arm sliding back towars the arm holder and away from the record. I would assume that this has to do w/ the bias, but I'm not sure. I set the counterweight to balance the arm, so that it floats parallel to the record surface and then set the tracking weight to 2g, and then the bias to the same amount. But that def. did not work....any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong? Does the counterweight need to be set higher? I'd take it in to the local Linn dealer but they want $60 just to mount the cartridge, and told me it would take a week! I think that's pretty rediculous. Any knowledgable Linn aficionados in the Phoenix, AZ area from this board? I know it shouldn't be this tough, and I'm not an idiot but it is my first table, so take it easy on me : ).
