I use the type 5 V15 Shure on the 1200. Be careful with the arm as they can be damaged easily. The 1200 I got would not drop down straight with a small amount of weight, say 1/10 gram and no anti-skate. This is the symptom of a damaged bearing. Picked up a new replacement arm for $60.00 and now all is fine. You may want to take the bottom off and check that the inner section screws are tightened down so the top deck does not resonate. It makes a difference.
The 1200 is hard to beat for the money.
