Jim,The 1900 is a 70's design. The 1200 if it is a MkII or later is also a 70's design but has many advantages over the 1900. The 1900 arm is not adjustable for height but the 1200 MK is and this makes setting vertical tracking angle a cinch since the 1200 arm can be adjusted during play for best focus. The 1200 is a quieter table and both tables will benefit from an aftermarket matt. I like the Home Depot shelf rubber make your own style.
Something like 10 million 1200s have been sold. If you are buying a used 1200 make sure it is not DJed out, so to speak. Parts are available for the 1200 at www.1200s.com. The1200 is a fun table to use.Ron-C
