See Thorens and Linn.......

If you want to find out more about setting up your AR suspension I suggest checking out some of the websites, FAQ's, and papers written on setting up Linn and Thorens turntables. The AR suspension is much the same concept just nobody to my knowledge has taken the time to detail the setup proceedures the way that have for these other tables.

I see a lot of posters have enlightened you on removing the transport screw so I won't go there. Also a few have put in there two bits with respect to the Rega comparison. I'll have to generally agree that it is hard to compare two tables that are fundamentally different in design. They are each likely to have there strenghs and weeknesses. However, I would think that your AR and Linn arm properly setup would be closer in overall performance to a P3 than a P2.

Your arm, while better than the stock AR model, is still the weakest link. Putting somethign a little better on it will push you into a whole other level of performance. Note I am assuming that you have an AR EB101 or ES-1. There would be other issues with the XA or XB models.
