I've bought a Yamaha P-350 turntable for basic listening purposes (cuz it was cheap). It sounds good enough for me. My only trouble with it, is that I'm getting a lot of vibration. On a particular Deutsche Gramaphone recording, I notice the needle shimmy left-right in repeated cycles. I'm sure it's partly because of the recording, but is there any way to reduce this - because the vibrations tend to reinforce each other enough to jump a groove occassionally. Is there any way to reduce this? I've played around with arm balance and anti-skate, but it doesn't seem to reduce it.Just for reference, how much should the stylus flex when sitting on the record? (I don't have a gauge to set the tracking force) What other way could I set it up by eyeball?
Any advice would be appreciated,
Adrian
