Re: Used Ittok LVII or new Akito 2

Hey:

My opinion go for the used Ittok still be cheaper than a
new Akito II. I'd look for the later version with the 1
piece counterweight and 3 hole mount headshell. Still
the older 2 pc if cared for should be a fine arm. 3 hole
mount is good if using a Linn MC if not no biggie.

The Linn LP12 faq has a description for testing the arm
bearings. Although if it moves smoothly with play from
begining to end of LP should be pretty much fine. Also
listening to the table is another way. An arm with
damaged bearings will sound bad and track improperly.

A couple of longtime Linn dealers told me they thought
the later Ittok LVII and LVIII's were still better
than the Akito1&2. Akito 2 is fine arm though.

Later Tony
