A $40 Grado "Black" will extract all the TT has to give. Remember, Grado cartridges are vulnerable to hum pickup. If the TT has an unshielded AC motor, a Grado cartridge could be a bad choice.The alternative to the Grado "Black" is the AT 331LP. It too will come in under your budget maximum and it is shielded. I replaced a budget Grado with an AT 331LP on my backup TT because of hum.
