New Phono Stage ...

.
.
...and line stage.
...and power amp.
...and headphone amp.

I was intrigued by the glowing reviews of this units bigger brothers, so took a flyer, sold my amp (Forte 5) and preamp (Yamaha C2a) and bought one.

I was a bit nervous, as my C2a had been thoroughly updated and the phono section upgraded. I'm accustomed to my records sounding really good.

So far, so good. I'm still using my Denon DL-160, which sounds far better on the MC stage than the MM input.

The unit is fully discrete, including the phono section.

At 105 w/ch and a bit over 50 pounds its something of a beast.

I also gained a remote control, which once used too is hard to imagine living without.

Thankfully the amp section plays well with my Platinum Audio Studio Series Ones. Plenty of power and control.

This is my first piece of new gear in over 20 years ...and its made me think about upgrading my cartridge.

Time will tell.

Dean.

reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
