RE: You won't get much help with your "I thought I made it clear" attitude. /nt\

As opposed to all the valuable and useful commentary received prior to doing so? I guess I'll just have to buy a Lab 80 and do my own comparisons. Then I, too, will have the ability to state which is "better".

Hey, don't take it personally. I'm sorry if I offended you and was being a dick. It's not just you. This happens on all the forums. Think about it. Someone asks for advice and someone just states their preference. There are thousands and thousands of pages devoted to these type of one-liner comments. What is so difficult about being specific?

For example, I'll start: I like the Dual 1229 because it has an impressively wide and deep soundstage with good focus. The bass, slam, and punch are remarkable. The tonearm is significantly better than it looks. Amazing, actually. And the turntable sounds extremely musical. It always tends to sound good, regardless of cartridge and source material. It's full-bodied and smooth on top. I find it hard to believe that the Lab 80 would be an improvement, but then again, I read a post wherein someone was claiming that it is.
