RE: Technics SL 1100A - source for speed control repair parts

A service manual and schematic is available on Vinyl Engine. The manual explains how the speed is maintained and that there are indeed transistors on the circuit board that maintain speed. Finding a good tech that can fix these is possible. I included a link to an online repair website, hopefully they can put you on the right track to getting your Technics working correctly. Or someone else here can help more than I can. I have had more than my share of vintage direct drives with speed issues, but the cost of repair can be prohibitive.

Failed capacitors on the board can also cause speed issues. There are posts on failed AN620 IC's, common in some of the Technics direct drives. and the pursuit of a replacement. Not sure if yours has this particular IC.

I guess this is why I have never looked beyond my Garrard and Thorens idler drives. Nothing too complicated...
