Do you have a link to the Stereophile article? That sounds interesting. In fact, yes. This is a fantastic cartridge for the price and then some. The original USA-made bodies are worth seeking out as well. The N35X stylus tracks better, lighter(1 to 3 grams), and sounds a little more supple than the stock stylus. Definitely recommended. The SC35C was part of Shure's professional series and was standard at many radio stations, including the BBC. Another classic Shure broadcast cartridge to keep an eye out for, though much rarer than the SC35C, is the SC39 (which came in three variations...SC39ED, SC39EJ, and SC39B, the end letters code for the different stylus tips). The SC39 models show up on ebay from time to time, but they are not easy to track down, IME. The SC39 was the cartridge used at the 'high-end stations' where more refinement was sought and featured the same MASAR polished tip that the V15 VxMR had.
