Good advice, and yes, but what attracts me to the 103R is that it's doing something in the midrange that I've never heard before. It has gorgeous midrange refinement and layers of resolution that the MM cartridges don't have. That's good to know about the Sony transformers, which is exactly the type of info I was seeking here. I have no idea whether they are good or not, just had them here and so that's what I used. Also starting to consider the idea that I may not like the sound of vinyl.
