Another Empire hum problem

I recently acquired an Empire 208, beautiful condition, all original, estate sale find. It comes up to speed quickly, arm is still working, but headshell and arm wiring will need to be redone soon. The issue is electrical hum. I have an Ortofon Quasar low output moving coil cartridge installed. If you reverse the power cord connection, I get loud hum when the table is on(platter rotating), if I reverse the plug, the hum is mostly gone but returns when I turn off the power. I have tried various grounding configurations, but nothing seems to work. Could the moving coil cartridge be picking up electrical hum?

Any suggestions?
