Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

I love my Ekos ii

which I bought used (w/tt). You can find sellers who will allow a local dealer to examine the arm and bless it as part of the terms of the sale. I have had luck working with folks this way over the years. If there is a good Linn analog dealer near you, it is super easy to do. The later Ekos arms are supposed to be a bit better -- folks call them Ekos ii after a certain serial number. Vinyl Engine has the FAQ with that info.

Another thought is why not have Linn service your tonearm. It could be something easily fixed.

I see you are located in the Boston area. I work with Jim Fuller at Goodwin's Highend Audio in Waltham. He is positively a magician when it comes to all things analog. I cannot say enough good things about him and his work. You have nothing to lose by having him inspect your arm and/or getting your table tuned up.

Best, Stephanie
