I buy vinyl off Ebay fairly regularly. But always from sellers who have been doing it for a while and that deal only in vinyl. I rarely have any problems, I just figure I will need to clean everything on my Nitty Gritty. I just purchased a Decca LP from a UK seller, who said it was near mint minus, but it's 90% dead quiet after the first few lead in grooves.
I also buy mostly classical. I have only returned 1 LP bought on Ebay in the last 6-7 years, it was supposed to be VG+, but it looked like the seller's dog used it as a Frisbee. On the other hand, I have had many more new records that were pressed badly and had to be returned to online record dealers.
Maybe I'm lucky as far as the Ebay deals go.
