AR turntable Speed controllers

I have 2 AR turntables, the ES-1 and the EB-101(on it's way). Both have some of the available upgrades, and sound quite good. I am on to the next step and that is to upgrade the power supply/speed controller. Since these have AC motors, will the Music Hall Cruise Control work? Has anyone tried there AR turntable with the Music Hall Cruise Control? Or maybe some other speed controller? Eventually I will probably go for the Sound of the Wood power supply($599), but price is a consideration.
