I just bought a near mint Technics SL M1 direct drive turntable. Nice unit, heavy build quality, etc. But the arm is a P-mount, which I will try and change, one way or another. The mounting distance and effective length is the same as a SL1200 tonearm, just wanted to make sure the SL1200 "S" arm tube will be an easy replacement for the straight P-mount arm that is currently on the M1, here are pics of the 2 arms, has anyone ever swapped out the armtubes on any of the Technics turntables, some of which seem to use the same arm.
Any help, advice, bad news, etc. will be appreciated.
