I have owned many tonearms (as a matter of fact, many of every kind of component). If you want to get better sound from your vinyl setup, be sure that your cartridge and pre pre is up to the job. Regarding tonearms.... VPI's can be adjusted in every parameter. Yes, they are pain to set up, but if done properly, the cartridge - whatever cartridge you decide on....will operate to its best advantage. I would check "Analogue Planet" to find out how to set up an arm. Proper azimuth is critical to good sound...that means you should have a Fozgometer. I use the Mint protractor for its precision. All parameters can be set "close" to optimal, but you will be missing what your cartridge can do. It may take you a few days, and you very well may be exhausted in the end, but DO IT RIGHT.
