I had a Dual 1219 with a problematic arm, rewired it twice to get rid of hum, which didn't work and the antiskate also had issues. I removed the arm and installed a Jelco 250ST which needed a small cut in the sheet metal to get the geometry right, Jelco mounting distance was 210mm, Dual arm was 207mm. The original owner had built the MDF base and removed all the auto functions. I also had to install a power switch.
It may be cheaper to get another turntable. But the 1219 has a 3.1kg idler driven platter and sounded quite good for the minimal investment in time and effort.
