RE: Curious....

part was I really wanted to like it. You know, all those great reviews and the crowd of aspiring audiophiles dreaming of getting one. It was my first really serious table and I thought something was wrong with the rest of the setup or myself, the cart was either too cheap or not 'synergistic' enough so after many changes and carts I figured out itS the table which simply refuses to play music in a meaningful way . Than I experienced other tables and eventually humble old LP12 (favorite target and example of all sins analog can offer:) which imperfect as it is delivers sort of effortless musicality P9 simply cannot match. Im not alone in my opinion but strangely P9 is going down as a one of the best tables ever made, one hardly can find single critical word about it on the net. Im not rich at all-opposite, so gaining experience takes considerably more time and effort.I didn't sell P9 in right time and it became little cosmetically challenged with the years passed. Shitty, thick wire from headshell kept breaking near the clips (they changed it in later models) and I should think of rewiring the arm (probably a good idea anyway). Lastly my girl likes the convenience of this turnkey player , it ticks her we have such expensive and humble looking thing she can operate so all and all it will stay.I have acquired used Hadcock GH242 arm and acrylic platter for future experiments...and have other tables to play :)
