I think Grado will be a better match for Thoens arms, Denon will be more suitable for stax arms. Since Denon is a ultra low compliance cart.(5cu) On the other side, Grado is a high compliance cart. (20cu)
Both of them are capable for playing jazz/pop music. Grado's sounds warmer than Denon's. Grado's treble is quite dull. Hope this will help you.
