Ok, everybody has an opinion in this hobby. Whenever I had a chance to listen to older and cheap Regas (P2 ,P3 , P25 ) I liked simple musicality of those tables ,analog warmth , some scale and ryhtmik qualities all of it in decent relation to price.(it's all relative) I have P9 for 5 years and it's a CD player among turntables , cold , small , overly detailed, musically boring. You just don't want to listen to music trough this table. The only reason I keep it that long is that it has cosmetic issues (so not really worth to sell it) I always suspected that I'm a fool and all the rest of ecstatic owners and reviewers must be right (well some don't but they quickly sell the turd "changing direction") and my girl like the convenience. If I understand Rega's philosophy , the flagship model represents the direction the company is going with it's products and it's looking to be a dead end for Rega. They seem to be very concentrated on marketing and sales these days and cater to audience without any clue about analog sound. Audience to which CD /MP3 is the only standard it can relate to and which almost never listens to acoustic music. Regards,W
PS The strategy to get something useful from VA is to go (run rather) opposite direction from whatever the majority of posters suggest ;)
