lp12 used

There is a helpful faq over at vinyl engine about the various iterations of the lp12 and linn arms. I would recommend going for a braced plinth, valhalla, Ittok VII arm. The braced plinth makes the bass response more accurate. Valhalla is fine and will make the tt cheaper. I found an earlier Linn/Ittok on craigslist several years ago w/cartridge and paid $850 for it. It was a solid performer but then it inspired me to find a 90's era lp12/Ekos ii, lingo 1 powersupply and I am very happy with it. Properly tuned the LP12's are great performers and it is a classic design. I moved from AR tt's because the motor was much quieter and I feel that the build quality of the LP12 was better than what I found in the AR's lovely and wonderful as they are. They are also a classic design and invite hot rodding which you are fond of.

I will be curious to see what you do to add to your collection of turntables!
