Hi Jerry,When comparing speakers, amps or cables, banana plugs are so convenient and some of my cables came with soldered on banana plugs.
To adapt old amps to banana plugs, I use Deltron BFA connectors (Linn plugs) on the end of a 4" wire pigtail. These connectors are in-line female banana plugs with both the connector and the wire termination fully shrouded.
I think that your idea is great for anyone who is constantly changing their system and expects to keep the amp/receiver for some time. Although I haven't heard any difference in sound with my set-up, compared to connecting directly to the terminal, fewer connections in the signal path is better in principle so eventually I plan to do what you have done on amps that I will be using long term.
