Actually I believe you need to jumper 6 - 7 to turn on. Pin 8 goes to the switched socket.

Also a warning to the original post - Every very single W5M I've seen had significant issues that needed repair. Every one needed electrolytic caps replaced. Coupling caps are typically leaky, and poor soldering / cold solder joints are common.

Bad transformers are common (both power and output). Especially check the UL taps on the outputs.

Don't just plug in a W5M. You'll convert what is likely a nice repairable amplifier to a parts unit!
