Re: More about McIntosh MI200?

Mike,

You are correct, The MC3500 and MI350 were born in 1968 and made for two or three years. These amps use 8 TV sweep tubes in the output and have one meter on the 19" faceplate as well as speaker connections and a switch for various output transformer taps. These amps were a gold silver color on the faceplate with a black cased chassis, fan cooled and were never sold in the hamertone grey finish.
The K107- MI200 series amps were made from 1954 to 1967. These used two 8005 triode transmitter output tubes and a separate power supply with tube rectification. These also had front panel bias controls and a single meter which reads 90 ma at idle and 400 ma at 200 watts out. The MI200 runs the outputs at 1000V which is conservative as the 8005 is rated for 1500V in transmitter use.

Thanks again,
Ron-C
