Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Agreed ...

I meant nothing derogatory by calling the PD264 "entry level" ...it just was where the Luxman table line started at the time.

I've now got this one working well. When I got it the stop/start/up/down was not engaging.

I got brave and took it all apart and now the little trip-lever falls smoothly into place so the table will start.

The guy who designed that was part genius part mad-scientist.

For those unfamiliar ...the trip-lever on the upper left in the picture below slides down the groove and then over to the right when you turn the cueing knob clockwise. Once the lever locks into place the table begins to rotate and the arm lowers to the record. At the end of the record the arm hits the lever, which triggers the cueing arm to raise and the motor to shut off. Easy peasy.

It sounds nice with the Goldring. I'm going to swap in a Signet TK5e and see what I think.

Dean.

reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
