Hi, gsquirrel. Symbol shown appears to be a diode. The wavy line going
into diode suggests 1/2 wave alternating current. B+ rectification would
have one side of secondary going into a diode from that side. This is
obviously not the bit of circuit shown which looks to be a bias supply(cap & diode + R). What conprises the diode remains an unknown though silicon is the most likely.
