its what's in the groove

Hi, blacknwhite. The jukeboxes look rad. I know how they sound 'cuz was
born in '46. The amp looks fine: looks to be 6L6G push-pull, 6SN7 up front (nice). I have an entire Major Record library on 78 rpm vinyl. Grew up with march collections pressed in clear red vinyl. When the
transition to 33 started the dynamic range was so clearly inferior there
was a lot of complaining expecially in the classical world. It has always
been my contention that the filet mignon of the music resides between
120 & 10,000 Hz. The 6L6G (GA GB) sound particularly fine. Lowish B+
is a major contributor. When the horsepower/watts thing overcame the
6L6G yielding the 6L6GC most of the 6L6 magic was gone. Glad to see
someone enjoying a mono groove at 78 rpm. Its what's in the groove
that counts. Happy Listening.
