Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

The Shure is essentially an M44-7....,

for the Garrard model A, RC120/1 mk2, RC210 changers, 4HF turntable and TPA12 pick up arm.

The spring loading allows the cartridge to retract into the headshell if the tracking force is too high, something's dropped on it or a cat steps on it (a Shure catalogue had a picture of this) without damaging the record.
