Re: Found my Dad a Fisher FM-1000 tuner..

I have had a Fisher FM1000 for about seven years and it works great. Always locks on a station and never drifts. I did re cap it and it has premium tubes throughout. The meter lamps were out and I tacked in some higher voltage 'grain of wheat' type, set them on the top of the meters and covered with tin foil. Looks like new. The only weakness of the FM 1000 is selectivity, which it never claimed to have. On my antenna it pulls 34 stations in clean stereo compared to my other tuners:
10B- 38
MR 78 Mc- 40
MX134/TM1 MC- 37

I used to have a Fish 200B and it seemed to work as well as the 1000 with less complication.
