MB-3045 or B-12 or ...

Mike, hi. If Luxman MB-3045 I would probably try to work a deal just to have the thing for parts as these are among the few push-pull tube amps I treasure. These 3045 amps sound very good. I would be careful plugging it in without precautions. Filter caps are aged. The Main B+ for the output tubes has no slow turn on. Also - there are other electrolytics to worry about. Several are rated at 550 Volts. The output tube B+ cap is a dual at 550! Try to find that part today. An outboard cap box is almost a given. If the amp has EL34, 6550, or 6LF6 it is not stock. The made for Luxman 8045G tubes are scarce. Don't use the Sino copies. The only other mono Luxman amp I remember is the B-12 in the Laboratory series circa 1979. It would be somewhat of a rarity. The Lux transistor circuits always sounded better than one might expect. Anyhow, that's how the mercedes benz. Happy Listening.
