FRG7SWL, hi. Personal devices demand lossy formats - video and audio. It's all about how much data can be squeezed into this little package - or send/receive to that little package. Then there is the RF to the head phenomenon. The cel phone generation must have carcinoma inducing radio transmitters pressed up right against their heads constantly - think of it, a radiating antenna on the human cranium! This should be enough to give anyone with RF experience or has lost a relative to RF (me - my brother-in-law) the unadulterated heebie jeebies. How ironic. The Red Book format Compact Disc may wind up being the last uncompressed audio format.
