Conditioner

pappy, hi. The term "power conditioner" covers a lot of ground. It could be just arrangements of C and L - as are most. It could apply to devices that regenerate the whole AC wave form. It could apply to Balanced Power devices like the Equi-Tech - which really deserve the honor of a new term. The balanced power device is also an isolation transformer. This is a good thing. From changes wrought by same in my studio and also main playback system I have to say the balanced power device is without peer. Lowered noise floor. Better digital conversion. An amazing improvement overall. I hesitated when first confronted with the Equi-Tech white papers. It appeared to be something too good to be true which always raises red flags. It has proven to be something so good I now regret not checking it out earlier. There are many other companies besides the pioneering one (Equi-Tech) jumping on the Balanced Power band wagon. I urge anyone who is serious about improving either recording or playback chains to investigate this subject. Try one. You will be amazed. I suggest reading Roger Nichols' recent article in an English recording magazine on the subject. Just Google Roger Nichols.
