Do they want bookshelf speakers because: they want to put them on bookshelves; they want to put them against a wall; because they think that they will be less obtrusive or for some other reason?While the A-60's can work on a bookshelf, most bookshelf speakers are really standmount speakers and don't sound any good on bookshelves or against a wall.
Some floor mount speakers look tidier and less obtrusive than many "bookshelf" speakers.
eg. My Mission 753 floormounts have a much greater WAF than my Snell E IIs or my Original Advents
Also, whay are they keeping the A-60's? 4 speaker set-up? Separate room?
