Re: Vintage speaker ? Snell E type II

I have a pair of Snell EIIs and a pair of Snell Ks and I would not call either "hard". They are however not rolled off at the top end and if the amp has a bit of an edge to it they will reveal it.

They sound great with tubes but they also sound great with a lot of solid state amps. For example, mine sound good with with my NAD 3020, Plinius 9100, Sony 3200F, Sugden A28B, Sugden A48B, Yamaha B-2, Yamaha A2070 (too many amps)

I believe that the tweeters on the Js and the Es are the same for the Peter Snell designed versions ie up to the EII and JII. The later versions were designed by others and many people say they are not as good but I have not heard them myself.
