HOW DARE YOU KNOCK THE IC150!!!!!! I'm incensed!!!!! Actually, as a Crown dealer of the days of the IC150/150A and the DC300/300A, I was required to stock and show them as part of my dealer agreement. The combo was so bad sounding that I told my employees that if any sold the combination without my personal approval, they would be fired. I allowed the sale only to go through after determining that the buyer 1) had no idea what good sound was, 2) listened to a good system and still wanted the Crown combo, 3) signed a waiver to my exchange policy and 4) signed a statement that he had been forewarned that the sound was no in keeping with the $ being spent. Why did I go through this? 1) I lived in a community and had a reputation to uphold as a quality shop, 2) hated to keep exchanging the stuff when a buyer would bring it back a few weeks later after sobering up or coming down from whereever his favorite drug had placed him, 3) had a response to the occaisional letter to the editor complaining about the sale and 4) the sound was so bad I really hoped the guy would wake up and realize how bad the combo was. This was a college town in the late 60s and early 70s and regardless of what I did or said, these future audiophiles loved to mate the combo with JBL100A or Klipsch Heresy and Cornwalls. Must have been hard to study and a living nightmare for the classical music lover.
